About Us
avidemux.app exists to make Avidemux easier to get started with. The program is powerful, but its documentation is spread across a wiki, a forum and years of release notes. This site collects the parts that matter into short guides written around real tasks: cutting a file, joining clips, converting a format, shrinking a recording, fixing sound, adding subtitles and automating all of it.
What you will find here
- A guide section with nine step-by-step articles, each tested against the current release.
- A download of the Avidemux source archive, taken from the project's public repository.
- A FAQ with direct answers to the questions that come up most often.
How the content is written
Every guide is checked by opening Avidemux, following the steps and confirming the result. When a setting has a trade-off, the guide says so instead of recommending one value for everyone. Version differences are noted where menus have moved.
Relationship to the Avidemux project
avidemux.app is a resource site. The software itself is developed and maintained by the Avidemux project and its contributors under the GNU GPL. Bug reports and feature requests for the program should go to the project's own issue tracker.
